The Art Walls Training Assistance Program is designed to assist members
of the organization with funding needed to attend training sessions
that may otherwise be unobtainable.
The following criteria must be met to ensure a review of the request
by the Board of Directors
- The applicant must have been an active member of the Florida
CPTED Network for a minimum of one year prior to submitting a
request for training assistance.
- The applicant must have attended at least two (2) FCN meetings
within the 12-month period prior to submitting a request.
- The applicant's primary job should be CPTED related.
- The applicant's agency (where applicable) must be in good standing
and annual dues paid.
- A signed letter from the applicant's chief, sheriff, department
head or his/her designee explaining the agency's lack of training
funds must accompany the application.
- All applications must be received at least 60 days prior to
the training registration deadline.
- The training must be CPTED oriented to enhance the applicants
CPTED skills.
- Each member is limited to one (1) tuition assistance per year.
- Each agency is limited to two (2) tuition assistance per year
regardless of agency size.
- Scholarships are primarily for tuition / registration fees only
and may not exceed $500.
- The Florida CPTED Network will pay tuition/registration directly
to the training facility / conference when possible.
- Upon completion of the training / conference, the person receiving
the
funding may be required to conduct a training session/presentation
at one of the general meetings.
All applicants will submit a letter providing the type of training,
who is supplying the training/conference, what they hope to obtain
from the training, and a statement of why they would like to attend
the training accompanied by the training / conference brochure and
registration form when possible.
The FCN Board of Directors will review all applications meeting
the required criteria and make a final decision. All requests for
assistance will be mailed directly to the FCN Treasure.
